This is one of our favourite 1 vs 1 games online because it’s both fun to play alone or against another player. The emphasis on balance, deep skill system and unique characters makes for a must-play experience that never gets old – even when you’re facing off against human opponents online or going head-to-head against AI in story mode. You’ll face impressive boss fights (including Deathstroke) while forging relationships with classic Soul Calibur heroes and villains like Siegfried and Nightmare!
3) Mortal Kombat X
The original Mortal Kombat was one of the first games to introduce 1 vs 1 fighting to a mainstream audience. Of course, it wasn’t strictly a fighting game at that point; there were no health bars or rounds—you won by depleting your opponent’s entire life bar. And fatalities weren’t just for show, either—they often meant winning matches in an instant. Street Fighter V is, in my opinion, one of the best 1 vs 1 games to have ever been created. There’s a reason it’s so popular — it’s just fun to play. One thing I like about Street Fighter V is that there are many different ways to approach your opponent. Unlike other fighting games that have you fight against an AI where you can brute force your way through opponents, Street Fighter forces you to think differently every single time. If you try and do exactly what you did last time, chances are, your opponent will learn from your mistakes and adapt for next time.
